Flower, bird and figure ink paintings become means of expressing the artist’s deep root in Chinese traditional culture. The experience of living in the cradles of both Eastern and Western cultures has brought new life into her paintings. The simplicity and refinement of her ink painting technique has been able to convey the vividness of the impressive nature of China as well as the spirit of Chinese traditional art and culture.
Ioanna Lin is one of the few Chinese artists residing in Greece. She holds the Master of Fine Arts degree at China Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Institute for Arts Education. During her master studies Lin has been evolved in various kinds of paintings. Later on she focused on watercolor and ink painting and developed a refined style of naturalism and exquisiteness. After graduation, she became the university art lecturer teaching painting techniques and art history. As the young bud of the LingNan art, she studied ink painting from famous LingNan artist ShaoAng Zhao and ZhiGuang Yang. Her ink painting balance Chinese and foreign elements while blending the ancient and modern in an innovative way. After moving to Athens in 2010, she got actively involved in Chinese-Greek cultural exchanges.
